I have a Snapper 3314518BVE rear engine rider with electrical problems. The mower belongs to my church and apparently my pastor decided to try and make repairs on his own. All of the diagrams I've found for this model do not exactly match this mower. It has a 14.5hp Briggs.
ReplyDeleteI rebuilt the carb and it runs great, however, the key switch will not kill the engine. Tracing the wires I've found that the black and brown wires from the switch are unplugged next to the engine. If I plug it back in to the other plug it immediately kills then engine. If I continue tracing that harness I find a problem I can't figure out. A black and a white wire come from the plug that attaches to the brown and black wire from the switch. The black wire disappears under the engine cover. The white wire goes to a second small plug that is unplugged with no other matching plug in sight. I cannot find a diagram showing this plug.

I just love reading your blog posts. You always provide a nice information regarding lawn mowers. I don't know much about lawn mowers but I remember when I was looking for a lawn mower I had to check several link and I found a list of lawn mowers where I found the right one for my mowing needs and I'm still using it.
